It has been a great honour and pleasure to serve as EUPHA-HWR section president and see the section growing since we initiated it in 2017!

Many thanks to everybody for their interest over recent years!

I am especially grateful to the previous steering board – Gilles Dussault, Ronald Batenburg and Milena Santric-Milicevic – to colleagues at WHO and the Observatory and other partnering organisations, to EUPHAnxt coordinator Monica Brinzac, and to Jose and colleagues in the EUPHA Office and the wider EUPHA family!

I am very pleased to hand over the section leadership to Marius Ungureanu, section president, and the new steering board and look forward to meeting (hopefully) many of you again next April in Cluj-Napoca for the EUPHA-HWR midterm conference.

Thank you for electing me as your section president, I look very much forward to working with you and welcoming hopefully many of you at the midterm conference in Cluj-Napoca!

I am also pleased to introduce the new Vice-Presidents, Michelle Falkenbach, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies in Brussels, and Tiago Correia, Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal.
