This meaningful project, which has already flourished across Slovakia with over 20 trees and 3,000 positive messages shared nationwide, creates spaces for compassion and mental health support through simple acts of kindness. By bringing this scientifically-proven concept to our campus, we're fostering a supportive community environment during challenging times. Description: | Join the 4th annual cycling event and spend some nice time around the city! This team-building activity for the staff of the Department of Psychiatry at Comenius University and University Hospital Bratislava aims to promote mental wellbeing through physical activity. The 20 km bicycle route through Bratislava offers a unique opportunity to build relationships outside the workplace, have fun, and raise awareness that physical activity contributes to both physical and mental health recovery. Friends and family members of the department staff are also welcome to participate. |

Description: | Join us for Nordic Walking and outdoor sports activities at Železná studnička in Bratislava. This event brings together mental health professionals and patients from the psychiatric day hospital of the Department of Psychiatry at Comenius University and University Hospital Bratislava. The activity promotes physical exercise as an important component of mental health care and recovery, while fostering social connections in a natural environment. Participants will also benefit from the presence of a therapy dog, enhancing the therapeutic value of the experience through animal-assisted intervention. The event demonstrates practical approaches to integrating physical activity and animal therapy into mental health treatment programs and supports patient wellbeing through accessible outdoor activities. |

Description: | An interactive workshop for older adults will focus on promoting active aging and digital health literacy (DHL). Potentially modifiable factors (high blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol, diabetes mellitus, obesity, physical inactivity) that may contribute to an increased risk of dementia will be identified via measuring blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, body weight, body fat, muscle mass, and BMI. A short counselling by community pharmacists will be provided. Participants will also be invited to participate in a survey mapping the DHL level and educational needs that will be used for the preparation of tailored intervention program. |

Description: | VSE CITY RUN is an original concept of charity runs held in the city centers of eastern Slovakia. The first starting shot was fired in 2008 in Košice, and today the event ranks among the largest of its kind in Slovakia. More than 46,000 runners have actively participated in 7 cities, and the total value of charitable contributions has already reached nearly EUR 177,000. The project traditionally involves children, seniors, amateur athletes, sports clubs, students, and well-known personalities. The entry fee from the non-competitive 4 km run is fully donated each year to a ed beneficiary. The proceeds from the entry fees are further increased by a financial donation from the general partner – brand VSE, which has supported the project since its inception. |
