British Newspaper reporting of English Health Profiles
The Guardian Newspaper has a tradition of looking at data and reporting on their website. They have taken the newly launched English Local Health Profiles developed by the English Department of Health and the Association of Public Health Observatories and recreated them using their own format. Two things to note with this, firstly that the writer of the article doesn't appear to like software being used for the reporting - '
"They've come up with a very detailed, if clunky to use, interactive map too" and secondly, there is quite a bit of praise for making the data quite transparent.
One of the future issues for the EUPHA Health Reporting section might be to look at how 'Health reports' are being reported.

NHS Quarterly Performance Report - from an external assessor
Kings Fund NHS Performance report
The Kings Fund is an English 'Thinktank' that provides independent analysis of health matters in England. This report is the first of a new series where they will be assessing the state of the English NHS. Stylistically it seems to be going down the trend of accessible graphics that are supported by an easy to read narrative. The audience is broadly non-governmental policy-makers/shapers.
Dutch Public Health Status and Forecasts Report 2010
The English translation of the summary report of the Dutch Public Health Status and Forecasts Report 2010. (The original Dutch report was published in March 2010, and consists of several background reports as well as this summary report). New in this edition of the summary report are the essay-like approach and the use of 'infographics'.

Welsh Public Health Monitoring Reports
Chief Medical Officer for Wales Annual Reports. The tradition for these goes back to the Public Health Act in 1848 in England and 1969 in Wales and is the key tool for the Chief Medical Officer of Wales to communicate with politicians, peers and the informed public. There are no guidelines or requirements relating to the content or style of the documents and the key criteria of success is the approval of the Chief Medical Officer.
EUPHIX
The European Union Public Health Information and Knowledge System (EUPHIX) was an EU funded project in which a prototype for a comprehensive, web-based European public health monitoring and reporting system was developed. Due to various reasons the prototype was not taken over by the European Commission. Due to lack of resources, the system could no longer be updated and maintained, and therefore it had to be taken off line. Its main features are described in the EUPHIX project's final report and an article in the Scandinavian Journal of Public Health, which are available below. To get an idea of the functionalities of the system one can also visit the Dutch Public Health Compass, on which the functional and technical design of EUPHIX were based.

The I2SARE website provides access to all the regional health profiles which were created as part of this project and published at the end of 2010. There is also a link to the database of 30 indicators across 265 regions of the EU.
