Description: | Our Erasmus Guest Prof. Nino Okribelashvili will outline mental health issues in Georgia that affect various age groups in unique ways. She will focus on the challenges faced by students, in particular, have come into focus, especially in the post-pandemic world. University Students: The transition to adulthood, coupled with academic pressure and career uncertainty, creates a breeding ground for anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues among Georgian students. Elderly Population: The elderly face a unique set of challenges, including social isolation, chronic illness, and grief, which contribute to mental health problems. The Lecture will be followed by a discussion with students and the academic staff drawing on the similarities between Bulgaria and Georgia regarding mental health issues.
