| Description: | This event is a community engagement campaign, organized as part of the Bulgarian Public Health Association’s initiatives within the seventh European Public Health Week (EUPHW). It aims to: (1) address public health challenges in the region through promotion of voluntary and non-remunerated blood donation, (2) raise the awareness and motivation of secondary and tertiary students from Shumen region and, on that premise, conduct blood donation campaigns, (3) nurture positive attitude of secondary and tertiary students to blood donation as a means of saving lives and this way guarantee the necessary amount of blood products for patient treatment. The purpose of the lecture that is going to be delivered by Chief Asst. Prof. Milena Todorova, PhD is to send clear messages to young individuals regarding blood donation as a safe and beneficial procedure resulting in a blood donation campaign along with the Department of Transfusion Hematology – Shumen. Target audiences: students, communities. |
