Description:This seminar will be presented by Dr Michael Byrne. Dr Byrne is the Head of Student Health Department in University College Cork, Ireland. The Department is responsible for delivering student-focussed health services targeting illnesses and health issues that predominate in the university population. Dr Byrne is Principal Investigator on the MyUSE Project (My Understanding of Substance Experiences), to develop an on-line behavioural change tool for students to help reduce harm from drug use amongst students and on the DUHEI study, the Drug Use in Higher Education in Ireland Study. The aim of the DUHEI Survey was to determine the prevalence and correlates of drug use among the student population in the Republic of Ireland, to inform future policy and practice in the area.
