Description:
This joint event by EUPHA and ECDC will officially kick-off the 2nd day of the EUPHW. This symposium co-hosted by the ECDC and the EUPHA Infectious Disease Section aims to showcase and celebrate the immense value brought about by vaccines, from the most traditional vaccines to the newest, including in times of a pandemic. Immunisation is a well-established component of primary prevention strategies in all EU Member States, however it is critical that investments in this intervention are sustained politically and financially, in order to achieve high levels of vaccine acceptance and uptake, as well as maximise individual and public health protection. Speakers are David Bloom (Harvard School of Public Health), Michele Cecchini (Public Health Division OECD), Mark Jit (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) and Jonas Sivela, Finnish Institute of Public Health.
We will also give an overview of the other events that will happen on this day.
