EUPHA-HWR Midterm Conference, 11-12 April 2024, Cluj-Napoca, Romania Under the theme ‘Investing in healthcare workforce governance: strengthen equity, inclusion and mental health & well-being’, this midterm conference is organised in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and the Department of Public Health at Babeș-Bolyai University, hosted by Marius Ungureanu and Monica Brinzac (EUPHAnxt Coordinator). Notices EUPHA-HWR election of a new president in November 2023. The regular term of the current EUPHA-HWR steering group ends and a new president and steering group will be elected in November 2023, taking office during/after the EPH Conference. The election will follow EUPHA guidelines and is organised by the EUPHA Office; please watch out for an email from the EUPHA Office in October, prior to the EPH Conference. Special Issue of International Journal of Health Planning and Management/ Wiley ‘The workforce crisis in healthcare: moving the debate to bridge evidence and policy, edited by Ellen Kuhlmann, Gabriela Lotta and Tiago Correia. This was a two-step selection process and the deadline is now closed. A record number of more than 220 (!) abstracts received by the deadline exceeds by far even our most optimistic expectations. It gives proof of the growing relevance and rapid expansion of the field of healthcare workforce research. Publication of the Special Issue is preliminarily scheduled for spring 2024.
