Dear colleagues,

It's day 3 of European Public Health Week and the theme of the day is "Climate change affects our health". The urban public health section are pleased to be a part of this morning's kick-off event at 9am CEST with the Environment and Health section, the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) and the ENBEL project (Enhancing Belmont Research Action to support EU policy making on climate change and health). EUPHAnxt EUPHW session

The Urban Public Health section are also pleased to be working with EUPHAnxt for an event on Friday at 4:30pm CEST discussing the involvement of young people in public health. You can find out more details and register by clicking here.

10th International Festival of Public Health

The Urban Public Health section will also be partnering with the 10th International Festival of Public Health, to be hosted at The University of Manchester and online on Thursday 21st July. The conference has two main themes, with Urban Health being one of them. If you are interesting in being a part of the EUPHA Urban Public Health section session at the Festival, please submit an abstract at http://www.festivalofpublichealth.co.uk/abstractsubmission/ and select "urban health" as the abstract category. Dedicated urban health keynote speakers at the event include:

  • Professor Jo Boufford, Clinical Professor of Global Health, New York University and Chair of the International Society of Urban Health
  • Dr Remy Sietchiping, Chief of Policy, Legislation and Governance, United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT)
  • Dr Yonette Thomas, Chief Executive, UrbanHealth360
