Dear Members and Friends of the Law and Public Health Section,

We hope that you are well.

Ahead of the 17th European Public Health Conference, held at the Lisbon Congress Centre from 13 to 15 November, the Steering Committee is delighted to share with you the programme of events in which the Law Section is involved. A full list is available at the end of this email. We hope that you all find something that is of interest to you.

We would also like to draw your attention to our annual Join The Network (JTN) meeting and urge you to come and join us to hear about the activities of the Law Section these past twelve months and reflect on our forthcoming activities. The Section is keen to support member-led events so we can, together, further diversify the range of our activities. The meeting will take place on Friday 15 November from 12.55 to 13.55 in room 3C. Our membership has tended to increase after the JTN meetings we have held at annual EPH, and we very much look forward to meeting you and other colleagues who may be thinking of joining the Section too. Please do spread the word.

The JTN meeting is particularly important this year, as I will be introducing the new Section President: Dimitra Lingri. I have served nearly four years as Section President, alongside Nikhil Gokani as Section Vice-President. We are not seeking a renewal of our mandates. I am therefore delighted that we have a successor. Dimitra and I will both be in Lisbon, alongside other Steering Committee members, to discuss what the Section has achieved since it was officially established in January 2021 and what is being proposed moving forward. We look forward to your input into this discussion.

In the meantime, have a safe trip to Lisbon for those of you registered for this forthcoming EPH conference!

Best wishes,
Amandine Garde, Section President
