Dear members of the EUPHA Health promotion section,

We hope you are doing well.

Since our last newsletter, we nominated the members of our steering committee (see table below). The committee includes 14 members coming from Europe’s four corners. All in all, and with the president and VP included, 14 countries are represented. We took great care to make sure that we included colleagues from Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Europe. They make for a rich mix of profiles; some being public health professionals, academics, some working for universities, government agencies, and NGOs. When scrolling the list of applicants, we were also looking at a broad spectrum of expertise.

In the next months, you will hear more from us as we are gathering speed and gaining in capacity to organize activities and mobilise members.

We are a 5000-member strong EUPHA section- this is to say that there is much we can do together to advance health promotion practice and research and influence policy-making. A significant share of our members are also from outside Europe. Needless to say that we also value your input.

Besides our regular Newsletters, we plan to organise a series of webinars on topics you deem important and may at some point carry out surveys within our ranks to get a better sense of the state of the health promotion field in Europe.

For the newsletter, we wish to make it as informative and useful as possible. We will experiment a structure that will get you quickly to the information you need. We also want to give you space to get the word out regarding your achievements and the events you organise and would like to promote. You can also use this venue to make a call to your fellow members to get some help on a project or reflect on an issue. The section is all about networking and joining forces.

Your feedback will always be welcomed and help us serve you better.

Thank you for reading.
