Call for papers: Public Health special issue on Health Literacy
Do you have writing goals for 2024? If so, you may be interested in submitting to this (deadline 31 December 2024). In-scope topics include:
- How health literacy is promoted and recognised in the age of Artificial Intelligence, the post-COVID-19 era, the sea of health misinformation, and the climate change crisis
- Evaluation of and implications for health literacy adoption in health-related policies within and across settings
- Impacts of improving health literacy on tackling health inequities and health inequalities
- Role of health literacy in sustainable development and as a social determinant of health
- Public health education on health literacy (including the pedagogy of teaching health literacy in the curricula of health professions and adoption of health literacy in basic literacy and numeracy education)
- Evolution and future development of the definitions of health literacy
- Development and application of measurement tools of various domains of health literacy with intercultural adaptations (including critical health literacy)
- Evaluation of national, local or community health literacy programmes/initiatives
- Interventional studies (including community trials in resource-restricted settings)
- Health literacy in a collective or social context
European Public Health Week 2024
We are gathering ideas for events/webinars to celebrate European Public Health Week (EUPHW), May 13–17. Let us know what you would like the Section to do using our , which remains open: we've received 16 responses to-date, please keep them coming!
Preparations for EPHC 2024
This year, the will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, 12-15 November. Do you have ideas for an abstract? Would you like support in preparing an abstract? Let us know in our . Responses received currently indicate that an abstract-writing workshop/sounding board would be helpful. Suggested topics so far include:
- Organizational Health Literacy
- Health Literacy and One Health/Planetary Health
- Environmental Health Literacy
- Public Health Literacy (including in crises)
- Health Literacy for Disadvantaged Groups
