Dear Section members,

An exciting year for European Public Health is about to end. It has seen the launch of the EUPHA Health Literacy Section, our participation in the European Public Health Week, and most importantly, an amazing European Public Health Conference in Dublin with plenty of workshops, a great joint pre-conference together with the EUPHA Public Health Reporting and Monitoring Section, and our essential Join the Network meeting. Our annual and JtN reports chronicling these events will be released early on in January on the Section website.

If you have missed the conference or want to re-visit it, please make sure to get the EJPH supplement for 16th European Public Health Conference 2023: Our Food, Our Health, Our Earth: A Sustainable Future for Humanity Dublin, Ireland 8–11 November 2023.

Conferences 2024

It really is astonishing and feels absolutely unique what you are all doing as a large global community and we are looking forward to learn more about your health literacy research, practice, and policy activities in 2024, hopefully at the 17th European Public Health Conference 2024: Sailing the waves of European public health: exploring a sea of innovation in Lisbon, Portugal, 12-15 November and at the 2nd Global Health Literacy Summit of the International Health Literacy Association (IHLA) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 18-20 September (more information will follow here).

EPHC 2024 webinar series

The road to EPHC 2024 will be accompanied by a series of webinars based on the topics of the EUPHA Sections. Make sure to check out the dates and topics, or see through the archive here.

WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Literacy

We would like to end this year with another exciting announcement: most recently, a WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Literacy was launched at the TUM School of Medicine and Health at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. More information on the new WHO CC and its goals can be accessed here.

Happy New Year

Again, thank you all so much for actively contributing to the Section, and we are looking forward to working with all of you in 2024. We are wishing you a happy new year 2024 and that you all stay healthy, be safe, and prosper along the way.

Best regards,
