Dear section members,

The EUPHA-HWR presidency of section president Ellen Kuhlmann is coming to an end after two terms of three years. According to the EUPHA Section Rules a new president needs to be elected and appointed by November 2023.

We are looking for a person who is a member of EUPHA, who has appropriate working experience and expertise in health workforce research with a focus on the European region, as well as leadership competencies, including collaboration with major European and international organisations and professional associations in the field, and overall high commitment to serve the goals of the EUPHA-HWR section and EUPHA more generally. 

The appointment is for a term of three years with the option of renomination for a second three-year term.

Any costs for travel and requested attendance to meetings/conferences is reimbursed by EUPHA.

If you are interested to stand for election for the next EUPHA-HWR president, please send a meaningful motivation letter and a short CV until Friday 29 September by noon CEST to office@EUPHA.org (subject EUPHA-HWR presidency). Please respond especially to the following questions:

• What is your overall motivation for standing for election for the EUPHA-HWR section?
• How long and in what capacity are you connected to the EUPHA-HWR section and how did you support the goals?
• What are your future plans to serve the EUPHA-HWR section, advance its goals and strengthen its impact in the field?

What happens next?

• applicants are checked by the EUPHA office for EUPHA membership and conflict of interest and you will be asked to sign a conflict of interest form upon election;
• nominations are sent to the Section President and the Steering Committee for discussion;
• applications of final nominees are forwarded to section members for voting;
• the votes of the section members are collected centrally at the EUPHA office;
• the applicant with the highest number of votes is elected as Section President.

The vice-president is nominated by the new section president along with the EUPHA-HWR Steering Group.
