Sciensano, formerly known as the Scientific Institute of Public Health (or WIV-ISP) is a federal institute that provides support for public health policy through scientific research, expert opinions and divisional tasks. On the basis of scientific research, Sciensano formulates recommendations and solutions in respect of priorities for a proactive health policy at the Belgian, European and international levels. Sciensano was established in 1904 and celebrated its 110th year of existence in 2014. Click here for the Institutional annual reports.
