Dear EUPHA-ECO section member,
We are delighted to inform you about the upcoming conference of the Public Health Economics section of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA-ECO), as part of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and co-organised with the Società Italiana d’Igiene, Medicina Preventiva e Sanità Pubblica (SiTi), the Italian Health Economics Association (AIES) and the BEST-COST project.
Join us at the 1st European Public Health Economics taking place in Palermo (Italy) on June 26th and 27th 2025. The abstract submission is already open via , and we are welcoming submissions for: working papers; oral presentations, ePosters, organised sessions (both project showcases and skill building seminars).
The conference will be dedicated to exploring the dynamics between our daily work and the international perspectives in the field of Public Health Economics. Central to our discussions will be a critical analysis of established and emerging methods and their application in your work. We also want to understand how health economics concepts and methods can be applied to pressing global challenges, such as health equity and climate change.
The EUPHA-ECO section wants to provide participants with a collaborative platform to exchange insights, explore methods and challenges, and strengthen partnerships.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
EUPHA-ECO welcomes you to present your research by submitting a short abstract. We welcome abstracts in all fields of health economics. This can be new research, development projects, policy evaluations or assessments of working methods in health and medical care. Abstract submission for the EPHE 2025 conference is open from 20th February until 20th March 2025 (18:00 CET).
You can contribute in different ways:
- Abstract presentation (poster or oral presentation): Submit an abstract (maximum 300 words) describing the background, methods, results, and conclusion.
- Working paper presentation: Submit an abstract of the content including the introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion (maximum 300 words). Based on the abstract evaluation we will ask for the complete Working Paper. Note that this does not have to be the final version of the paper.
- Organised session – skills-building seminar: Submit a description of the content and planned structure of the session, including the context, learning objectives, methodology, expected outcomes, and relevance (maximum 500 words).
- Organised session – project showcase: Submit a global description and planned structure of the session, including the context, objectives, approach, and implications (maximum 200 words) and 3-4 abstracts (maximum 300 words per abstract) for the content.
Send your work via by March 20th (18:00 CET). The content of your presentation will be reviewed by a scientific committee, with feedback before March 30th.
REGISTRATION
Registrations will open on April 7th 2025 and close on April 28th. The registration fee to attend the conference is €350, which includes attendance for two full days, coffee and lunch breaks during the event and the social event on the 26th. Travel and accommodation are at one’s own charge.
