Linked to the Vienna 2016 conference, EUPHA and the Austrian Public Health Association published a Declaration reiterating the importance of the Ottawa Charter, adopted 30 years ago. This Declaration was supported by EPHA, EuroHealthNet, ASPHER, EuSPR, European Observatory and WFPHA and co-signed by 15 national associations (Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Polands, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

During Vienna 2016, over 150 conference delegates from 29 countries  indicated their support for the Vienna Declaration.
