Dear EUPHAnxt subscribers,

Welcome to the November edition of the EUPHAnxt newsletter, which will showcase the upcoming EPH conference, which takes place next week! We look forward to meeting you all in Dublin and make sure to stop by the EUPHAnxt stand throughout the conference days. Please tune into our social media channels, as we are introducing each conference fellow who will be helping the EUPHAnxt team at the conference.

We are also very pleased to introduce our new intern:

Ruxandra Simonescu-Colan is currently embarked on her Medical Residency Program in Public Health and Management, while also working as a research technician with the Department of Public Health of the Babes-Bolyai University (BBU) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she has delved deep into diverse topics, showcasing her versatile expertise in the field.

SAVE THE DATE: Our social evening for the upcoming #EPH2023 is scheduled for Thursday, November 9th 2023. The social evening will take place at The Landmark Pub, located at 1 Kevin Street Lower, Portobello, Dublin, D08 DX2A. We look forward to seeing you there, accompanied by traditional Irish music!

In October, the EUPHAnxt team was busy with a wide array of activities, among which the kick off meeting of the mentoring programme (see pictures to the right) and contributing to the writing of the Primary health care policy and practice: implementing for better results – Youth-led outcome statement for the International conference celebrating the 45th anniversary of Alma-Ata and 5th anniversary of Astana declarations, as part of the Youth4Health network.

As always, we are very excited to share opportunities and events which could be relevant to you, as young public health professionals. You are encouraged to share similar content with us and we would be pleased to disseminate it to our network. Be sure to check out our socials (see icons above). EUPHAnxt is open to partner with student organisations in Europe. If you are a part of an organisation that may be interested in joining forces, please contact us.

  Upcoming events





The 16th European Public Health Conference (EPH) will be held in Dublin, Ireland and the conference will focus on a sustainable future. Learn more about the conference and register here. The pre-conference programme for the #EPH2023 will take place on Wednesday, November 8th and the full event list can be found on the conference website. Please note: pre-conference registration is a separate registration from the main conference and registration fees are €75 and €150, and sponsored pre-conferences are €20. All include a networking buffet lunch. Additionally, don’t forget to download the official “EPH Conference” app which will help you navigate through the conference days. Simply search “EPH Conference” in your iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

ESCAIDE is the European Scientific Conference for Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology, organised by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control  (ECDC). Registration for in-person attendance is closed, however the conference is available online. Learn more here!

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is organizing a selection procedure for traineeships within the agency’s different units to work on promoting occupational safety and health (OSH) from the agency’s headquarters in Bilbao or the liaison office in Brussels. The deadline for applications is 15 November 2023 at 13:00 (Bilbao time). Learn more and apply here.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has several vacancies, including an Expert Biostatistician and Scientific Officer roles. Most roles are located in Stockholm, Sweden and the deadline for applying ranges throughout the month of November. Learn more here!
