EUPHAnxt newsletter

Dear EUPHAnxt subscribers,

Welcome back to the first edition of the EUPHAnxt newsletter for 2024. We hope you all had a restful holiday season, and your new year is off to a very great start! Throughout the past several years, and especially in 2023, we have expanded out network through many different avenues. We are excited for EUPHAnxt to evolve and grow even further in 2024. We have many opportunities and events already planned for this year, and we are delighted to share them with you as the year progresses.

We have two new persons who are joining our team. Domitilla Marconi will be serving as talent manager, who will manage the mentoring programme and other professional and personal development initiatives, and Sophie Eicher will be serving as outreach manager, who will be responsible of establishing and nurturing both new and existing partnerships, as well as developing webinars tailored to meet your specific needs. Below are brief introductions to both Domitilla and Sophie. Please help us welcome them to the EUPHAnxt family!

We would also like to take a moment and thank Maaike, the former Deputy Director at EUPHA, for all her hard work over the past 7 years. In particular, she was extremely supportive for the development and growth of EUPHAnxt. Maaike, you will be missed and we wish you the absolute best in your next adventure.

#EPH2023 update: our conference fellows conducted interviews throughout the EPH conference in Dublin, Ireland last November. The first interview, conducted by Aleksandar Stevanović with Assist. Prof. Marius Ungureanu MD, PhD, the new president of the EUPHA Health workforce research section, is now available on the EUPHA website. We will continue to share these interviews as they become available. Congratulation Aleksandar for a job well done and thank you, Marius for your support!

For those you who are new to our network, EUPHAnxt is a unique network within EUPHA for students and young professionals, including early career researchers and policymakers, in the field of public health. EUPHAnxt is a free and open initiative that aims to inform and involve the future generations into the European and multidisciplinary network of public health associations.

You are encouraged to share related opportunities and events with us and we would be pleased to disseminate it to our network. EUPHAnxt is open to partner with student organisations in Europe. If you are a part of an organisation that may be interested in joining forces, please contact us. NOTE: If you wish to receive the monthly newsletter directly to your inbox and avoid it going directly to spam, please add euphanxt@eupha.org to your contacts/address book.

Here’s to a prosperous year of public health!

  1. Prepare a draft abstract in accordance with the instructions for single abstracts

  2. Indicate the topic of your abstract

  3. Send your anonymous draft abstract as a Word document for tutoring to: abstract@ephconference.edu with the subject “Abstract tutoring programme.”

Sailing the waves of European public health: exploring a sea of innovation is the main theme for the conference. Just as explorers once set sail to discover new worlds, we, as public health professionals, embark on a journey of innovation and discovery in our field. ·      Artificial Intelligence in Public Health

·      One Health- Animal Approach

·      Health inequalities

Stay tuned! Join us for our captivating monthly webinar series ‘Sailing to Lisbon 2024’. Throughout these compelling webinars, we will explore the conference’s main theme and subthemes, addressing pressing topics such as post-pandemic challenges, workforce capacity building, immunization strategies, and the evolving role of public health professionals. What’s more, participants will enjoy an interactive quiz at the conclusion of each session, offering a chance to win an exclusive seat at the Conference Dinner & Dance in Lisbon, and a waiver of registration fees for the 17th EPH Conference.
