European Public Health Week (EUPHW) Wrap-Up
Thanks to everyone who participated in the EUPHW, which took place from May 13-17, 2024. “Health is a political choice” was the theme for the week and on this theme, we hope all of our subscribers took advantage of their voting right and voted in the recent European elections, which took place from June 6-9, 2024.

A special thank you to our partners for making our network event possible, including the European Commission’s DG SANTE, WHO Euro’s Youth for Health Network, Young Forum Gastein, European Nursing Student Association (ENSA), European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations (EFPSA), European Network of Medical Residents in Public Health (EuroNet MRPH), the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER), the UNESCO Chair Global Health and Education, Young WFPHA, and the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF). Mark your calendars! #EPH24 is scheduled for November 12- 15, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal and registration is . The registration fee will increase from September 1, so be sure to register soon and note there are reduced fees for current students and trainees. And please note, abstract results are out! Check your registered e-mail for details on your abstract submission.
Additionally, EUPHA and EPH Conference Foundation have set up the Jouke van der Zee Fund offering registration fee waivers to delegates from lower-middle and upper-middle income countries in the WHO European Region and have an active role at the EPH Conference 2024. You may apply for a waiver if you have an oral/poster presentation or are a speaker/panellist in a workshop and come from one of the eligible countries (listed on our website). Call for applications for the EUPHA Fellowship 2024!
EUPHA and EUPHAnxt are looking for six enthusiastic individuals who are ready to show initiative in promoting the 17th EPH Conference taking place in Lisbon, Portugal between the 12th and the 15th November 2024. The selected fellows will:
- Have the opportunity to work alongside the EUPHAnxt team, the EUPHA office and the conference team to disseminate information about the conference through various communication platforms;
- Take part in mentoring sessions with renowned public health experts;
- Have the opportunity to network at the European Public Health Conference;
- Receive a signed certificate of appreciation from EUPHA;
- Receive a conference fee waiver;
- Participate in the conference preparatory meeting;
- Attend the agreed upon sessions;
- Interview conference participants and report on that through blogposts;
- Post on EUPHAnxt’s social media accounts information about the sessions and the
- experience of being a fellow;
- Attend the mentoring sessions;
- Submit a short daily summary of the sessions attended;
- Contribute to the YUPT (Yesterday’s Updates, Plans for Today) podcast;
How to apply? If you want to submit your application for the Fellowship Programme 2024, please fill in this . Please note that it is required to have (at least) one abstract accepted and/or present at the 17th European Public Health Conference 2024. Send in your application before 26th June 2024 (23:59 CEST).
The pre-conference programme, which takes place Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12, has just been announced.
