1st European Public Health Economics Conference 2025

Welcome to the 1st European Public Health Economics conference, organised by the Public Health Economics section of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA-ECO) and supported by EUPHA, SiTi, AIES and the BEST-COST project.

The conference will be in English.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PALERMO 2025

EUPHA-ECO welcomes you to present your research by submitting a short abstract. We welcome abstracts in all fields of health economics. This can be new research, development projects, policy evaluations or assessments of working methods in health.

Abstract submission for the EPHE 2025 conference is open from 20 February until 20 March 2025 (18:00 CET).

You can contribute in different ways:

  1. Abstract presentation (poster or oral): Submit an abstract (maximum 300 words) describing the background (including research question), methods, results, and conclusion.
  2. Working paper presentation: Submit an abstract of the content describing the introduction (including research question), method, results, discussion (including policy or methodological implications) and conclusion (maximum 3000 words).
  3. Organised session – skills-building seminar: Submit a description of the content and planned structure (context, learning objectives, methodology, expected outcomes and relevance) of the session (maximum 500 words).
  4. Organised session – project showcase: Submit a global description and a planned structure (including context, objectives, approach and implications) of the session (maximum 200 words) and 3-4 abstracts (maximum 300 words per abstract) for the content.

Send your work via this link by 20 March (18:00 CET). The content of your presentation will be reviewed by a scientific committee, with feedback before 30 March.

REGISTRATION

Registrations will be open from 7 April until on 28 April. The registration fee to attend the conference is €350, including attendance for two full days, coffee/tea and lunch breaks, and the social event on 26 June. Travel and accommodation are at one’s own charge.

A registration link will be provided before registration opens.

INSIGHTS INTO THE PROGRAM

In this conference, we will discuss the role of “Public Health Economics” and how we apply it in our daily work from locally to globally. Different sessions are organised to discuss together working papers, present your research and showcase your project.

The closing plenary session will be focused on “Health Equity and Climate Change” through a Public Health Economics lens. This must-attend session will be delivered by Miqdad Asaria (LSE).
