Welcome to the 1st European Public Health Economics conference, organised by the Public Health Economics section of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA-ECO) and supported by EUPHA, SiTi, AIES and the BEST-COST project.
The conference will be held in Palermo, Italy, from 26 – 27 June 2025.

Conference Programme
At the conference, leading researchers and professionals in the field will explore the practical applications of “Public Health Economics” in their daily work, ranging from local initiatives to global studies. The program features a diverse selection of sessions, including in-depth discussions on working papers, abstract presentations, project showcases, and interactive skill-building seminars. We are honoured to welcome Miqdad Asaria from the London School of Economics (LSE) as our keynote speaker, with a presentation on “Health Equity and Climate Change” through a Public Health Economics lens.
In this conference, we will discuss the role of “Public Health Economics” and how we apply it in our daily work from locally to globally. Different sessions are organised to discuss together working papers, present your research and showcase your project.
The closing plenary session will be focused on “Health Equity and Climate Change” through a Public Health Economics lens. This must-attend session will be delivered by Miqdad Asaria (LSE).

Instructions for presenters
Oral Presentation: Duration of 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Please send us your PowerPoint presentation (max 10 slides) by June 10th.
Working Paper: Duration of 15 minutes followed by 30 minutes of discussion. Please send us your PowerPoint presentation (max 15 slides) by June 10th.
Poster: Please send us your Poster in a pdf format, in horizontal, by June 10th. Please have in mind that it will be displayed in a 16:9 screen.
Project Showcase: Duration of 60 minutes. Please send us your PowerPoint presentation by June 10th.
