Dear EUPHA-EPI section members,

last week we had our European Public Health Conference in Berlin. It was great meeting with many of you for the first time in a long while. We had a very well-attended pre-conference on natural experiments evaluation, and workshops on the topics of health services research, meta-research, and burden of injury.

The Join the Network meeting was held on Friday 11 November. You can find here the slides of the meeting. During the meeting, some possible topics for the next conference (to be held in Dublin, Ireland, 8-11 November 2023) arose: integration of qualitative methods in epidemiological research, observational epidemiology to inform public health response during the COVID-19 pandemic, social epidemiology, mixed and multilevel models. Please contact us if you would like to participate in the organisation of these workshops or want to suggest other possible topics before 15 January 2023. Also, a collaboration with the World Health Organisation Regional Office for Europe has been envisaged during a pre-conference meeting with the Advisory Council on Innovation for Non Communicable Diseases. This collaboration could include the drafting of a joint policy brief and the organisation of a workshop on the topic of "Data and Digital Health". Finally, we are still looking for a second Vice President for the section. If you want to apply for this position, send an email to stefania.boccia@unicatt.it with your CV and presentation letter explaining your potential contribution to the section.

Best wishes,

Stefania and Angelo
