News on European health systems and policies

The WHO launched a funding appeal to assist people in health emergencies, in order to combat the increasing number of people in need of humanitarian relief with the associated disruption of health systems.

The Swedish presidency’s health agenda is already available and will include topics such as the European Health Data Space, antimicrobial resistance, regulation of medical devices, revision of the European Medical Agency’s fees system, pharmaceutical legislation mainly on orphan drugs and paediatric medicines, the implementation of the European Beating Cancer’s Plan, the EU’s Global Health Strategy, as well as measures to combat loneliness.

A sub-committee on Public Health will be created in the European Parliament as defined in the Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (18th January).
