Upcoming events

BIO-SIGN Project Conference – Rome, Italy

Date: Wednesday, 29 October 2025
Venue: Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Rome

The conference “The BIO-SIGN project: Identification of biomarker signatures of multimorbidity patterns for the development of an innovative and multidimensional tool to assess individual health risks” will take place at ISS Rome.

Our President, Prof. Saverio Stranges, will deliver a keynote lecture on:
“Moving from single chronic disease to multimorbidity prevention, and clinical management.”

JACARDI General Assembly – Madrid, Spain

Date: Tuesday, 14 October 2025

Our Vice-President, Dr. Sarah Cuschieri, will represent the CHR Section and the University of Malta at the Joint Action JACARDI General Assembly on cardiovascular disease and diabetes. She will serve as both scientific advisor and moderator during the sessions.

Population Webinar Series – October Edition

Date: Thursday, 30 October 2025

Title: “Trends in Alcohol-Related Hospitalizations, Deaths & Consumption Patterns in Ireland: Pre-Minimum Unit Pricing Phase”

Speakers: Ms Isabelle Mary Kate Coonan and Dr. Zubair Kabir (University College Cork)

This webinar explores recent trends in alcohol-related harms and drinking behaviours in Ireland prior to the introduction of minimum unit pricing (MUP). Their analysis provides a critical baseline to evaluate future alcohol policy. Register for free here.

Symposium Updates

In June 2025, we successfully held our 2nd International Symposium on “Society,
Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention: Time for a Paradigm Shift” at the
Neuromed Institute in Molise, Italy (5–6 June 2025).

We are now co-organising the 2026 International Symposium in Copenhagen:

Title: “Cracking the Code of Multimorbidity: Patterns, Prevention, and Personal
Experiences”
