Dear section members,
As mentioned in the annual meeting of the MIG Section at the EPH 2024 conference, in February the Section Council Meeting took place, where various topics were discussed, including the governance of the sections and the planning of the upcoming EPH 2025 conference. In line with what was presented and agreed upon at the Section Council Meeting, I am pleased to announce that Esperanza Diaz has kindly accepted to serve as Vice President of the section, and Pierina Velando will act as Executive Secretariat. While we still have work to do to finalize the new organization of the section, we are now in the position to proceed with establishing a new Steering Committee.
European Public Health Conference 2025
Concerning the next European Public Health Conference in Helsinki (Finland) in November 2025, we are currently gathering ideas to ensure strong participation from the MIG Section, both in organizing workshops and in submitting abstracts across the program. For workshops, priority will be given to proposals that involve collaboration among various types of organizations (e.g., international, academic, and civil society). The section aims to submit several proposals for symposia, workshops, roundtables, or science sessions. If you have ideas, would like to contribute, or need further information, please contact myself () and Esperanza Diaz () by March 25, 2025. We welcome all contributions related to MIG topics and are fully available to support the organization of workshops based on your ideas and proposals. For more information on abstract formatting and general submission guidelines, please visit .
Working Groups
We are also excited to update/revisit our existing working groups and launch new ones in 2025! We will soon be in contact with the existing Working Group Leaders and want to invite those of you who are motivated to create new ones to submit a brief description of your proposed group (including the topic, chair, main objectives, planned activities and deliverables for 2025, members of the group).
European Public Health Week
Finally, our section will have the opportunity to present our work during the European Public Health Week on May 16, 2025. We expect the Working Groups to actively participate in this event. If you have any ideas you would like to share through our MIG section, please let us know.
Thank you for reading us.
Best regards, Sónia Dias, President – sonia.dias@ensp.unl.pt Esperanza Diaz, Vice President – Esperanza.Diaz@uib.no
