International conference: Institutionalising HIA in Europe for better supporting decision-making processes
3-4 June 2025 at the Spanish Ministry of Health
The EUPHA-HIA section is delighted to invite you to register for the conference on “Institutionalising Health Impact Assessment (HIA) in Europe for better supporting decision-making processes“, scheduled for 3 and 4 June 2025 at the headquarters of the Spanish Ministry of Health, at Paseo del Prado 18 – 20, Madrid 28014.
This event is co-funded by the Health Programme of the European Commission, with support of the Spanish Ministry of Health. It aims to foster knowledge, good practices exchange and policy dialogue between public health officers, urban panners and environmental consultants, researchers and policymakers across Europe and beyond for improving an effective and useful institutionalisation of HIA in Europe. In achieving this general goal, the following topics will be addressed:
- Institutionalization of HIA across Europe: practical examples, policy mobilization
- Practical experience of Implementation of HIA in Spain
- HIA and urban planning
- Integrating health in other impact assessments
- Evidence and methods for HIA
- Capacity building in HIA
- Role of HIA in achieving HiAP and the SDGs
- Using HIA inside and outside the health sector
Audience
Open to policymakers, public health and environmental officers, environmental and urban planner consultants, researchers, and other stakeholders interested in health impact assessment or in integrating health considerations into non-health sectors proposals.

Your contribution, providing your point of view, experience and perspective on the different topics that will be addressed in the different roundtables is important and necessary. You can also contribute by presenting your own experiences on some of the topics described above.
