Dear Section members,

The abstract submission for the 18th European Public Health Conference 2025: Investing for sustainable health and well-being is open and will remain so until 1 May 2025. The main conference will be organized from 12 to 14 November 2025, while the pre-conferences will take place on 11 November 2025. The conference venue is the Finlandia Hall, Helsinki, Finland. Check out the conference themes here. The EPHC promo video can be watched on YouTube. As announced in our last newsletter, please see below some ideas for workshops, round tables, and science sessions we are currently working on. If you are:

(i) interested in joining one of these submissions, please let us know and share your abstract with us. Information on how to prepare an abstract to be included to these submissions can be found here.

(ii) planning to develop your own workshop, round table, or science session and need our support or would like to invite Section Members to join you, please contact Catherine (jenkinc8@lsbu.ac.uk) and myself (orkan.okan@tum.de).

(iii) planning to submit single abstracts, please check out the following website for instructions.

An additional FAQ regarding abstract submission can be accessed here.

List of possible submissions (so far)

We are having a general/broad title/topic, provide information on the format, and possible co-organizers – to some we have already talked to, others we still need to approach.

Please check them carefully and let us know if you are conducting research – and have results/evidence – that match one of the topics. It is important to highlight that we can only accept abstracts, if you already have the results. Prospective results cannot be accepted as this is a critical evaluation point to be assessed by the scientific committee.

If you plan your own submissions with one or more co-organizers, you must clearly describe the co-organizer contribution. This is a new evaluation point at this year`s EPHC.

In this regard, in addition to common characteristics (coherent theme, quality abstracts, good results, etc.) a submission, e.g., a scientific session, should have multiple co-organizers, ideally EUPHA sections (our Section is happy to act as co-orgnizer, if the topic is or touches health literacy) alongside other institutions, e.g., your university or host institution, and presenters should come from different countries. Please avoid submissions where all speakers come from the same country/institution.

Please declare your interest if you see yourself in one of the below submission ideas. Regarding the scientific sessions, of course, due to the limitation – we plan to have a max of 4 presentations per scientific session – this is first come first serve principal. Also, where there is heavy involvement of other EUPHA sections, we will also invite their section members to submit abstracts.
