With best wishes for a great Easter break, we are sending you the March update from the EUPHA Health Services Research (HSR) Section.

Firstly, we were delighted to see so many of you join the HSR Community Consultation on 13 March. Thank you for taking the time to participate and for your valuable contributions to the discussions. Building on this success, we are organising our (hybrid) mid-term conference on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June 2026. The focus of this conference will be care pathways and their role in strengthening public health systems. This conference will be part of our second edition of our one-week, EUPHA-THSR Spring School: ‘Translational Health Services Research Methods 2026: Healthcare and Health Information Pathways for Strengthening Health and Care Systems’. This will be the , which will take place in Berlin from Monday 22 to Friday 26 June. Further details will follow in our April newsletter. Save the date!

We would also like to remind you that the deadline for submitting abstracts for the European Public Health Conference 2026 is 1 May 2026 at 18:00 CET. If you are interested in contributing to coordinated HSR proposals for workshops or pre-conference proposals, please send a brief outline of your idea, proposal or support request by email to: THSR@charite.de.

And remember you can submit your local activities to the European Public Health Week 2026

First HSR Dialogue between EUPHA-Sections, on  30 March 2026 (online)

We are pleased to launch our EUPHA-HSR 2026 Webinar Series – From Public to Global Health Synergies: a shared journey towards resilience, equity and innovation

For the launch of our webinar series, we chose a HSR-Dialogue. This format is an open dialogue between presidents of EUPHA-Sections. In this first event, Dr. Lorena Dini, President of the EUPHA Health Services Research Section will meet Dr. Elena Petelos, President of the EUPHA Global Health Section, to discuss the intersections and potential synergies between public health, global health, and the role of HSR across both domains.

Agenda

  • Introductory round of networks and participants
  • Presentation from EUPHA Sections on their current work in health systems research and global health
  • Discussion on the role of health services research in the fields of public health and global health
  • Identification of priority areas for joint work through network discussion
