Public Health Association of Latvia (PHAL) was established in April 1995 as an open non-governmental professional organisation with the aim to promote public health in Latvia by strengthening the scientific basis and to develop the practice by bringing together professionals working in the field. Members represent different branches of public health: environmental health, health promotion, health management, health statistics and epidemiology. Public health association of Latvia joined EUPHA in 2003.
