CUE-CAN brings together 14 partners from eight European countries and Canada to reduce childhood and adolescent cancers by identifying and preventing harmful environmental exposures. With a focus on prenatal development and early childhood, the project investigates how external agents trigger or promote cancer and generate evidence for actionable prevention. It will work with stakeholders to co-create policy recommendations, technical guidance, and workshops that inform public health strategies and EU-level regulation. By giving regulators and health systems evidence-based tools and speeding the path from discovery to prevention of environmentally driven childhood cancer, CUE-CAN aims to build a healthier future for Europe’s next generations.
EUPHA’s role as a partner
EUPHA leads the project’s dissemination, stakeholder engagement and communication workstream, which turns CUE-CAN’s scientific outputs into strategies with public health impact. This includes raising awareness of the project and the link between environmental exposures and childhood cancer, and engaging the public through active campaigns. EUPHA also ensures that findings reach policy, regulatory, clinical and public health audiences, supporting uptake, reuse and implementation. In addition, it delivers tailored outputs for policy stakeholders, helping translate evidence into actionable policy decisions.
