European Public Health Week

12-16 May 2025

Innovation for resilience
Shaping a Sustainable Future

Friday 16 May - Next generation: Public health of today and tomorrow

Daily Partners: EUPHAnxt, Y4H & friends

Daily message:

The future of public health lies in the hands of the next generation—students, young and early career (SYEC) professionals, and emerging leaders who bring fresh ideas, innovative solutions, and the drive to challenge the status quo. However, true youth engagement goes beyond acknowledging their potential; it requires creating real opportunities for them to lead, influence policies, and shape the public health landscape. By sharing decision-making power and fostering collaboration across generations, we can build a more inclusive, resilient, and forward-thinking public health system.

How can we ensure young voices are not just heard but truly empowered? What structures and opportunities can help SYEC professionals take leadership roles? How can collaboration across sectors drive meaningful change for the future of public health?

Sub-themes

  • SYEC professionals as public health leaders.
  • Youth participation in policy-making and governance.
  • Public-private partnerships for the future of health.
  • Strengthening civil society’s role in public health.
  • Innovative approaches to collaboration and leadership.
  • Community-driven solutions for a healthier tomorrow.

By empowering the next generation today, we pave the way for a stronger, more innovative, and more equitable public health tomorrow.
