Digitalisation is transforming every aspect of young people’s lives. It is not only changing how they communicate — it is reshaping how they develop, cope, form relationships, and understand themselves.

Join us for a webinar bringing together leading voices from psychology, policy, and youth organisations to explore how we can shape a healthier digital future.

This event will highlight the urgent need to create spaces where young people can transform anxiety about digital and technological change into agency, participation, and constructive hope.

We will also address the growing recognition that online safety and digital well-being must be treated as a public health priority. This includes:

  • Safety-by-design approaches
  • Investing in digital literacy and critical skills
  • Supporting offline alternatives for connection and well-being
  • Ensuring meaningful youth participation in shaping policies that directly affect their lives

Speakers:

  • Emma Louise Wood, European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations (EFPSA): Targeting the risks of digitalisation: a student organisation's perspective
  • Charline Schweinberger, Beyond Lab (UN Geneva): From Anxiety to Agency: Behaviour Change, Constructive Hope and Youth Mental Health in a Digitised World
  • Marcia Brophy, UNICEF HQ: Always Online, Not Always Supported: Youth Mental Health in the Digital Age
  • Ernst H.W. Koster, Belgian Federation of Psychologists (BFP): The causal influence of social media use on mental health
  • Cassie Redlich, WHO Europe: Adopting a public health approach to addressing the digital determinants of youth mental health and well-being in the WHO European Region
