Humanity is facing a profound polycrisis marked by climate change, armed conflict, pandemics, and deepening inequalities. These deeply interconnected crises have devastating implications for health and well-being of people, the planet and organized efforts of society. The crisis are not random isolated events but result from our actions and / or lack of actions and understanding to meet the urgent exigencies of our times.

In these turbulent times there is need to consider our role, mission and mandate as individuals, communities and institutions and spaces where we live, work and play. The proposed webinar will reflect on role, mission and mandate of public health professionals; share some ongoing activities of the health community, and reflect and consult on options for further collaboration and lines of action.

The webinar is organized by EUPHA ethics section in collaboration with Peace Health Practitioners Alliance and other partners. It is part of the initiative to commemorate the UN 40th Anniversary of the UN International year of peace and options to consider determinants and underlying issues for the polycrisis. The panel will include public health professionals who are supporting developing some of the activities for the initiative.
