INTRODUCTION: Evaluation is the process of characterizing and assessing various aspects of educational activity. Assessment takes place during the process of delivering a course and is used to support learning.
Aim: The present study aims to examine and analyze the attitudes of nursing students towards electronic assessment of knowledge in the context of a pandemic, identifying the main advantages, difficulties and factors influencing the effectiveness and acceptance of this type of assessment.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The survey involved 194 (96.5%) women and 7 (3.5%) men. The study was performed in the third and fourth month of the beginning of the lock down during the period. An individual anonymous survey with trainee nurses from several universities was used to analyze and evaluate the results.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: Students have some reasonable reservations about online assessment because they do not yet have the mindset and preparation necessary to conduct online assessment related to their future professional activities. It should be foreseen that it takes much more effort and time to prepare and deliver a distance course in parallel with the students’ examination, there is a concern among the lecturers regarding the objectivity of the examination procedures.
CONCLUSION: In-depth analysis of the pros and cons of online assessment, the level of lecturer preparation, student satisfaction, the degree of objectivity of assessment should be the focus of researchers in both education and health systems.
