The Department of Kinesitherapy is organizing a screening among students from the Faculty of Public Health, Healthcare and Sport in order to identify the growing problem in society affecting people of all ages of neck pain and the impact on mental health due to prolonged computer/telephone use, desk work, poor posture, stress and reduced physical activity. Recent studies show a link between increased use of mobile phones and an increase in the frequency of neck pain and increased addiction to digital devices. Prolonged use of electronic devices, exceeding three hours a day, is a significant risk factor and is a sure sign of impacting mental health. We will pay particular attention to young people of working age, reducing stigma, workforce capacity and greater investment in mental health systems. Timely assessment and measures taken for this condition will significantly improve people’s health and lifestyle. The selection of methods and means of Kinesitherapy as an integrated approach will support prevention, earlier intervention, continuity of care and better long-term outcomes.
