Through long-term care, a differentiated approach and comprehensive nursing care can be provided in several areas:
Development of disease prevention measures, including the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, combating reduced physical activity, and management of chronic conditions characteristic of elderly and older adults;
Provision of professional, evidence-based geriatric nursing care for seriously ill elderly and older adults;
Provision of palliative care for elderly and older adults with an unfavorable disease prognosis, with the aim of ensuring a dignified death.
