10:00–11:00 Kick-off webinar From evidence to action: the co-benefits of health

European Public Health Week 2026 opens with a timely and thought-provoking webinar exploring how scientific evidence can be translated into real-world policy and impact. As Europe faces complex health, social, and environmental challenges, it is increasingly clear that health is shaped far beyond the health sector.

This session will dive into the concept of Health in All Policies, highlighting how investments in public health create co-benefits across society—from economic resilience to social equity and environmental sustainability. Bringing together voices from policy, research, and practice, the discussion will explore how we can better align sectors, overcome barriers, and turn knowledge into action.

Join us to kick off the week and discover how stronger collaboration and smarter investments can help build healthier, more sustainable societies across Europe.

13:30–18:00 “Advancing Cross-Sector Collaboration for a Healthier Europe.” Final conference of the Healthy Lifestyles for Europe (HL4EU) project

As part of European Public Health Week, Europe’s largest health awareness-raising campaign, HL4EU will host it’s Final Conference: “Advancing Cross-Sector Collaboration for a Healthier Europe.”

The event will bring together European stakeholders committed to promoting healthier, more active lifestyles through cross-sector collaboration and will showcase the key results of the HL4EU project.

14:00–15:00 Health FOR All Policies: Health Co-Benefits from a European and National perspective

How can decisions in areas like employment, housing, education, and social policy improve health outcomes across Europe? This session explores the growing importance of Health FOR All Policies—an approach that goes beyond protecting health to actively creating co-benefits for well-being, equity, and society as a whole.

Taking place in the context of the Cyprus EU Council Presidency, this event brings together European and national perspectives to examine how cross-sectoral policies can deliver meaningful health gains. From mental health and active ageing to social inclusion and workforce conditions, the discussion highlights how policy choices outside the health sector shape the health of populations.

By connecting high-level European priorities with national implementation realities, this session offers a unique opportunity to learn, exchange, and collaborate across sectors. Join us to explore how we can better align policies and unlock the full potential of health as a driver of sustainable and inclusive societies.

Organisers: Cyprus Epidemiology and Public Health Association (CyEPHA), European Public Health Association (EUPHA), Global Network for Health in All Policies, Directorate of Medical and Public Health Services, Cyprus Ministry of Health and the WHO Regional Office for Europe

18:30–20:00 Opening reception European Parliament, Brussels

European Public Health Week (EUPHW) 2026 will officially open with a high-level reception at the European Parliament, bringing together policymakers, public health leaders, researchers, and civil society from across Europe.

At a time when health systems are under pressure and inequalities are rising, this event sends a strong message: investing in public health is investing in Europe’s future. From economic resilience to social cohesion and democratic stability, public health plays a vital role far beyond the health sector.

This opening reception will set the tone for the week by highlighting how evidence can be translated into action, and why stronger, more inclusive health investments are essential for building healthier, fairer, and more resilient societies.

Participants will hear from high-level speakers representing European institutions, public health organisations, and the next generation of professionals. Together, they will launch a week of over 200 events across Europe dedicated to collaboration, innovation, and impact.

This event is led by MEP Vlad Vasile Voiculescu (Renew Europe) and the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), in partnership with DG SANTE.
