Join us for this virtual event with the Childlight Global Child Safety Institute (hosted by the University of Edinburgh), to discover new data on the scale and physical and mental health consequences of child sexual exploitation and abuse across Europe.

A panel of European experts and decision makers will discuss the latest research and policy implications around evidence that harms linked to these crimes may be a larger contributor to ill health among girls and women than widely recognised risk factors such as poor diet, physical inactivity or excessive alcohol use.

Childlight will make the case that treating child sexual abuse as a preventable public health issue – with health ministries playing a funded, central role as part of a multi-sectoral response – could help governments stop harm before it happens, and bring enormous societal benefits.
