Pre-conferences: 9 September 2026
Main conference: 10–11 September 2026
The aim of this event is to provide a multi-stakeholder platform bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society to explore, discuss, and catalyse innovative approaches, strategies, and system-level transformations for improving public health in the European region.
Background
Public health in Europe is entering a period of rapid transformation, driven by new technologies, shifting demographic trends, and changing societal needs. As countries continue to address long-standing challenges—such as chronic diseases, ageing populations, and health inequalities—there is an increasing demand for innovative, evidence-based approaches that can strengthen health systems and improve population well-being. The 2026 conference “Healthy Horizons: Exploring Innovations in Public Health” brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society to exchange knowledge, inspire collaboration, and shape the future of public health in the region.
The conference is organised around six interconnected sub-themes, each reflecting a key priority for modern health systems:
- Behavioural and Cultural Insights: From Awareness to Action
Exploring how behavioural science and cultural understanding can drive healthier choices and more effective public health interventions. - Shaping Resilient Health and Care Systems
Strengthening the capacity of health and social care systems to adapt, withstand crises, and deliver high-quality, integrated services. - Active and Healthy Ageing in the Digital Era
Promoting healthy ageing through digital tools, innovations, and community-based approaches that support independence and well-being. - Opportunities for Advancing Healthy Weight Management
Addressing obesity through evidence-based prevention, lifestyle support, environmental changes, and equitable public health strategies. - Empowering People for Safety in Healthcare
Enhancing patient safety by improving communication, transparency, health literacy, and shared decision-making. - Health 5.0: mRNA, AI, NPI
Examining the next generation of public health technologies—including mRNA platforms, artificial intelligence, and non-pharmacological interventions — shaping future health systems.
Be part of the 2026 gathering in the High Tatras, where you can share your experience and explore opportunities for advancing sustainable healthcare systems in Europe! Together, we will create a dynamic space for networking, knowledge exchange, and informed debate. By contributing your insights, you will help highlight issues that require deeper attention from key stakeholders and support the development of materials that will inform future policy discussions at both national and European levels.
The conference will be accredited by the Slovak Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (SACCME) | Konferencia bude zaradená do kreditného systému CME.
