Call for Abstracts – 2025 EPH Conference in Helsinki

In preparation for the EPH Conference in Helsinki (November 2025), the EUPHA section on Public Health Policy and Politics (PHPP) invites all members to submit abstracts on new and relevant work related to public health policy, governance, and politics to the section leadership by 13 April 2025.

The section aims to submit several symposium/workshop proposals (each including 4-5 individual presentations) on behalf of the section. If you are interested in contributing to a section-led proposal, please submit your abstract directly to the section leadership. We will review and organise abstracts into thematic draft proposals. Webinar recording: “Stands Up for Science”

On March 7, the European Public Health Association and the Public Health Policy and Politics Section hosted a webinar to support the global “Stands Up for Science”  initiative, rallying international solidarity in response to escalating threats to science in the U.S. Speakers, including Scott Greer, Marleen Bekker, Kit Yates, and Martin McKee, warned of the dismantling of research institutions and public health programs, urging European scientists to defend evidence-based policy. The session called for stronger protections for academic freedom, public engagement to counter misinformation, and European leadership in global and public health. The webinar marked a powerful moment of unity, emphasising that defending science is a shared, global responsibility. Europe must act now.

Webinar recording is available on EUPHA’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S358YBbeBIg
