Commission recommends stronger measures on smoke-free environments to better protect public health

The new initiative recommends that Member States extend smoke-free environment policies to key outdoor areas, to better protect people in the EU, particularly children and young people.

The 2024 Europe Report of the Lancet Countdown

 The latest report from the Lancet Countdown Europe tracks progress on health and climate change in the region.  Compiled with the contribution of 69 experts spanning 42 academic and UN institutions, the new report explores 42 indicators which monitor the health impacts of climate change, as well as the inadequate, delayed or missed opportunities of climate action in Europe.

WHO announces the 2024 updated Compendium of interventions on environmental health

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released the 2024 updated version of the Compendium of WHO and other UN guidance on health and environment. This vital resource compiles proposed interventions for reducing disease from environmental risks and saving millions of lives worldwide.
