Our strategic collaborations

European institutions and agencies

World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe) is the regional office of the World Health Organization supporting European countries in developing and implementing policies to improve public health and reduce health inequalities. EUPHA holds official Non-State Actor (NSA) status with WHO/Europe and signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2023 to strengthen collaboration on public health initiatives. WHO is one of the core EPH Conference and EUPHW Partners.

European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies The Observatory is a partnership hosted by WHO/Europe that delivers rigorous comparative analysis and timely, knowledge-brokered evidence to support evidence-informed health policy-making across European health systems. They are one of the core partners of EPH Conference and European Public Health Week (EUPHW).

European Commission EUPHA engages with the EU Commission with DG SANTE and HadEA to shape and uphold EU public health and food safety policies, ensuring science-driven protection for the health of all European.They are historical partners of EPH Conference and EUPHW through the Operating Grant that was granted until June 2025. EUPHA participates in the EU Health Policy Platform, collaborating on public health priorities and contributing to evidence-informed policy-making in Europe

European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA): EUPHA is represented in HERA’s Civil Society Forum, providing input on health emergency preparedness. During EUPHW, EUPHA partners with DG HERA to reinforce Europe’s preparedness and response to health emergencies by advancing medical countermeasures and strengthening cross-border coordination

European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC): The partnership with ECDC fosters knowledge exchange, highlights evidence-based practices, and supports coordinated action on infectious disease prevention and control across Europe.

European Medicines Agency (EMA): EUPHA is an eligible organization for EMA and a member of the EMA Policy Officers Group (POG), contributing to discussions on medicinal products and public health.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD): Regular exchanges and work on health indicators and equity assessments.

Civil Society Organizations and Institutions

Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) is the leading European organization dedicated to strengthening the education and training of public health professionals through collaboration, capacity-building, and curriculum development. We have a specific MOU “Building the Public Health Workforce of Tomorrow”. They are one of the core EPH Conference partners.

EuroHealthNet is a not‑for‑profit partnership of national and regional public health bodies, research centres, and authorities across Europe dedicated to reducing health inequalities and promoting health equity through policy, practice, and research. They are one of the core EPH Partners.

European Health Management Association (EHMA) is a membership-based organization that brings together health managers, policymakers, researchers, and professionals to improve health system performance and innovation across Europe. They are one of the core EPH Partners.

Mental Health Europe is the leading independent European NGO advocating for the rights of people with psychosocial disabilities, promoting positive mental health, preventing mental distress, and improving mental healthcare and social inclusion across Europe. They are one of the EUPHW Partner.

UNESCO Chair Global Health and Education: The UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education promotes intersectoral collaboration, capacity-building, and evidence-driven Through our MO signed in 2023, we jointly promote intersectoral collaboration, capacity building, and evidence-driven initiatives to strengthen the Community Public Health Workforce as an official EUPHW partner.

Global Network on Health in All Policies (GNHiAP): Shared advocacy for health considerations across all policymaking sectors, we have a shared roadmap to develop knowledge and build capacity in Health in All Policies.

Global Law Enforcement & Public Health Association (GLEPHA): We have an MOU and published a shared Position paper on European Internal Security Strategy.

Council of Occupational Therapists for the European Countries (COTEC): Collaborative guidelines on occupational health and rehabilitation, MOU in progress.

Multi-partner initiatives

EUPHA belongs to the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) and we have regular meetings to share globally our challenges.

EU4Health Civil Society Alliance: EUPHA participates in this alliance to advocate for a robust EU health program and a strong  Civil Society eco-system where we cooperate and all have a dedicated role.

Coalition for Vaccination is a group of European associations of healthcare professionals and student associations in the field of health and vaccination. EUPHA participates in the coalition to support evidence-based vaccination practices, promote public trust in vaccines, and strengthen collaboration among health professionals across Europe to improve population health.
